Chorusgirl - Collapso Calypso (2022) [Hi-Res]

Chorusgirl is Anglo-German songwriter Silvi Wersing, and the name refers to the fact that Silvi spent years playing ‘chorus girl’ to other musicians’ dreams, until deciding that introverts and chorus girls should front their own shows.

The pandemic got us all I suppose in some way but Chorusgirl - who had been riding pretty high with a couple of records of dreampop in 2015 and 2018 - had to return to her native German partly due to a nervous breakdown and partly to care for her ill father. She's slowly put things back together again and re-badged Chorusgirl as a solo project for this reflective work which kinda sounds like as if all the '60s girl groups had taken downers.
