Bach, Bartók, Boulez: the works for solo violin by these three composers have left their mark on music history, each in its own time.
But Johann Sebastian Bach's Sonata BWV 1001, Béla Bartók's Sonata Sz. 117 and Anthèmes 2 by Pierre Boulez are not only avant-garde explorations of their time, but also three works that share a deeper common background: They are, above all, vehicles of musical sensibility. Violinist David Petrlik, born in 1995, was accepted at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse of Paris at the age of 14 and has since been encouraged by renowned colleagues such as Christian Tetzlaff and Gidon Kremer.
