The ten tracks that make up this compilation are anything but T.G. Sheppard's greatest songs. During the late '70s and into the '80s, Sheppard had several Top Ten country hits, with no less than 14 that climbed to number one. The majority of those hits were released on Warner Bros., of which Curb is a subsidiary. Logically, you would figure at least a few of those tracks would be included on a package called Greatest Songs! Nope! This makes no sense; Sheppard has a great voice and was often paired up with top-notch producers and songwriters, but with the exception of "Born in a High Wind," these tunes are obscurities and cover versions of Billy Swan's "I Can Help," Bryan Adams' "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You," and "Haunted House" by Jumpin' Gene Simmons. Not to add gasoline to the fire, but the cover art is absolutely hideous as well. Sheppard's back catalog deserves better treatment than this.
