was formed by congista/band leader Zion Rose Sosa. Zion was born and raised in Temecula, CA, but has lived the last 9 years of her life in Cincinnati, OH. Zion, with some of her cultural roots in Puerto Rico, fell in love with Latin Jazz while she was studying jazz performance at Northern Kentucky University. She formed this band in April of 2019 and ever since then, El Ritmo Del Manana has become a significant part of Cincinnati's jazz scene. The band features a myriad of energetic, dedicated, and skilled musicians that each bring a unique voice to the band’s playing and writing. Members include Eric Lechliter on Trumpet, Spencer Merk on Trombone, Christian Paradiso on Saxophone, Ryan Jones on Piano/Bass, Derek Johnson on Drumset, & Zion Rose on Congas. El Ritmo Del Mañana’s recent highlights include a performance featuring the world-renowned drummer Jeff Hamilton, the release of their debut album Escalón, and a Christmas album of original arrangements by members of the band (coming soon). El Ritmo Del Mañana is a high energy Latin Jazz band that provides the ultimate Latin Jazz experience. You’ll hear the roots of Latin Jazz with music by Chucho Valdes all the way to Sivuca. ERDM makes this music their own and builds on tradition by playing original Latin Jazz compositions and arrangements by members of the band. Their first album, Escalón, includes originals, arrangements, and covers from great Latin Jazz composers Ray Barretto and Clare Fischer. El Ritmo Del Manana plays all around the Midwest, spreading their love for Latin Jazz and experimenting to create original music that is as exciting as it is unique. They strive to live up to their name and bring you “The Rhythm of Tomorrow.”
