For a long time people have kept asking me when I will record an album where I play all my instruments. I've always felt it doesn't make sense to do this recording session including solely standards. However, once I have a nice collection of original compositions I might record them by myself (or mostly by myself). On the other hand, I also wanted to do some live (not overdubbed) tracks, so I invited my friends Márton Soós (double bass), Balázs Cseh (drums), and Gábor Cseke (piano) to record these pieces with me.

As for the compositions, five out of the nine songs are earlier ones. 'Riff in the Deep', 'Adrian's Dream' and 'Boppin' Hard' are the exact compilation of songs on my 'Concerto for Bass Saxophone and Big Band' CD I wrote a couple of years ago. 'Swingin' on the Danube' is an earlier composition, too. I've already recorded these songs with the Budapest based Modern Art Orchestra on a CD featuring my own compositions. 'Playtime' is also a piece I first arranged for the MAO. On 'Multiplay' you can hear these titles with a different musical arrangement.

When composing the new material for this album I wanted to include songs in different genres. 'Bone Dance' is a happy latin song, 'Melody for C' is a nice walking ballad, 'As for Myself' is featuring my harmon trumpet, 'Crying over Ourselves' is a sort of ballad arranged for lots of euphoniums and flugels...
