Arkose - Diamond in the Rough Beat Tape, Vol. 1 (2023) [Hi-Res]

Arkose is the dynamic duo of Noah Sills & Tad Adams from Atlanta, Georgia. The multi-instrumentalists met in high school band back in 2012. They had a mutual love for Hip-hop, Jazz, R&B & Classic Rock. The definition of Arkose is a sedimentary rock (Rock made up of rocks). That’s how they approach their music, hence their “Diamond Cut” sound Noah has performed with Tom Scott, Eddie 9V, Mr. Trapjazz (Chris Moten), Joe Gransden, and many more. Tad Adams has played with many great musicians including his grandfather, trombonist, composer, & educator, Teddy Adams. In 2019, Arkose released the ‘For the Love’ EP. These demos were the foundation for the band. As it was house driven, it showed some early signs of their current sound. Fall of 2020, Arkose released their 2nd EP, ‘Say Their Names’. The project was more of the style of Acid Jazz, Soul, & some Orchestrations to display some of the social topics of being a minority, specifically a black man in the United States. Arkose has put out a couple of covers and remixes since December of 2020. ‘This Christmas/ Christmas Time is Here’, ‘The Boondocks End Theme Remix’, And their ‘MF DOOM Tribute’ covers. The latest project, ‘Diamond in the Rough Beat Tape Vol. 1’, showcases the latest sounds from the duo. There’s elements of jazz, hip hop, R&B, house & Rock that’s displayed all over this beat tape. Arkose plans on releasing features from this project as well, amongst other releases that aren’t related to the tape.
