The collective term electronic music is any kind of musical work of art, or for a music industry product, in which sounds are generated using electronic technical devices synthesizer personal computer sound cards, and these devices dominate the composition and/or performance (this does not exclude the inclusion of acoustic instruments, vocals, etc. as additional devices). He overcame the experimental era of electronic music at the end of the 1970s. Today, it has become one of the dominant trends in pop music.

In the late 70s and early 80s, the development of electronic instruments started strongly. Analog synthesizers gave way to digital synths and samplers. These first sound samplers, like the early synths, were bulky and prohibitively expensive—companies like Fairlight and New England Digital sold instruments for $100,000. In the mid-1980s, these musical instruments were replaced by cheap and affordable samplers. From the late 1970s, a lot of music was created with these instruments. Formations such as Heaven 17, Severed Heads, The Human League, Yazoo, The Art of Noise, Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, Depeche Mode and New Order opened new chapters in electronic music reporting. The name of Fad Gadget is apostrophized directly as the father of the electronic music aspect of new wave.

It is a feature of synthpop music, from which the synthesizer got its name. The soundscape of a synthpop song is usually similar to popular music. In the mid-1970s, such greats of electronic music as Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Brian Eno and Tomita became known, who had a great influence on the development of the New Age musical style. The Italian producer Giorgio Moroder also had a great influence on the further development of electronic music, when he smoothed the careers of many synthpop artists, such as Donna Summer. The first wave of British synthpop was mostly influenced by David Bowie, Roxy Music and Kraftwerk.

Disco is a style of dance music. The genre was at the peak of its popularity in the second half of the seventies. Its roots can be found in the club life of African-American, gay and psychedelic subcultures in New York and Philadelphia at the turn of the sixties and seventies. Disco music was the reaction of New York's gays, blacks and Latinos to rock music. It also became accepted among women, and the style soon spread to other cultural environments.
Some icons of the genre: Donna Summer, Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band.

The genre is music originally from Italy, dominant in the late 70's and mid 80's. An early form of electronic dance music. Italo disco is based on traditional disco elements, but electronic devices are already used in it, and the lyrics of the songs are in English. Examples of such devices are a drum machine or a synthesizer. 1983 is the year when the style became widely known and loved outside of Italy.
Some representatives of the genre, without claiming to be exhaustive: Lime, Trans-x, Bad Boys Blue, C.C. Catch.
