Coming from Rotterdam, Helsinki and New York, Tuomas Ruokonen Quartet gathers to celebrate the release of their debut ‘RuOK?’ Ep. The Finnish quartet performs for the first time in the Netherlands, playing their music which combines Nordic Jazz with Sigur Rós-like post-rock sounds. In their live performances, expressive melodies work as a stepping stone for improvised storylines that take the listener on a new kind of journey every night.
The group is formed around the music of drummer/composer Tuomas Ruokonen who is currently based in Rotterdam. He’s currently finishing his master studies at Codarts and is eager to share the content of RuOK? Ep with the people of his new home town, by performing with his old friends.
The members of the quartet are some of the most well established young musicians of Finland. From Helsinki arrive guitarist Ville-Veikko Airaniemi and bass player Oskari Siirtola and from New York pianist Toomas Keski-Säntti, who’s currently doing master studies at Manhattan School of Music.
