Jai-Jagdeesh - From Dust (2023) Hi-Res

Singer-songwriter Jai-Jagdeesh’s new album, ‘From Dust’, is a remarkable exploration of deeply personal and universal themes of music born from trauma and grief. Traversing realms of pain and recovery and all the spaces in between, Jai-Jagdeesh explores the layers of humanity on her most daring and introspective project to date. She confronts authority and the injustices, both personal and universal, in “Take the Pedestals Down” and “Nobody Told Me”. As she leads us into the present moment, the musical layers swirl like an auditory take on Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” or Munch’s “The Scream,” both haunting and intricately beautiful. Guitars awash in reverb twist with the tails of violins to create a bed for her honest and intimate vocals. ‘From Dust’ is a falling apart and a search for rebuilding; a bittersweet journey; and Jai-Jagdeesh expresses it with the most exquisite and intentional touch.

‘From Dust’ includes thirteen tracks, taking us on a vulnerable musical journey with the release of the full album.

“Road to Somewhere” was the first single to be released as part of this project. It is an anthem reconciling a painful past, the mystery of the future, and the knowing of the present moment. Jai-Jagdeesh confronts the sadness of a hard childhood experience, and she does so with the courage of an adult brave enough to venture onto paths unknown.
