01. Tiffany Lorentz - All I Can Be
02. Tiffany Lorentz - Home
03. Tiffany Lorentz - High & dry
04. Tiffany Lorentz - Not for us
Tiffany Lorentz is now here with her debut EP, A new kind of rhythm. The title is taken from the song Not for us, which is the EP's only new song. I have previously praised her singles that preceded the EP, mainly Home and All I can be have been fantastic. High & dry didn't grab me right away, but it grew over time.
In many ways, A new kind of rhythm feels like a journey in four acts, like four seasons, where All I can be and Home have been springy and summery, while High and dry and Not for us are more autumnal and wintry and embrace the melancholy. At the same time, it is both a review of how things have been and a kind of fresh start, something safe to find home in.
The new song Not for us offers Tiffany's best vocal effort to date. The song contributes a wonderful calm that spreads and the song grows the more I listen. It breathes both melancholy and hope. And although the EP begins and does not end with the springy and dancey, the EP leaves one with the feeling that Tiffany has found her own spring, where something nice and safe can take off.
