Mojo Blues Band With Special Guest Dana Gillespie - And The Rockin' Boogie Flu (1988)

The Mojo Blues Band has been an acclaimed blues band in Austria for decades, with five musicians who know how to do it technically. Erik Trauner and Joachim Palden founded the band in 1977 and performed for the first time as Mojo Bluesband in "Jazzland" in Vienna. Joachim Palden wins the Boogie Woogie Contest in Zurich that year. In 14978 they debuted with 'Shake that Boogie'. In 1980 they recorded their second album 'Hey Bartender' and met British singer Dana Gillespie in Cafe Lange, with whom they started collaborating. In 1985 Markus Toyfl joined the band as second guitarist. In 1991 in Vienna they found drummer Peter Müller with whom they recorded their seventh album 'Alligator Walk'. Christian Dozzler left the band in 1993 and was replaced by the German pianist Henning Pertiet on the advice of Axel Zwingenberger. In 1997, Henning moved back to Germany and piano virtuoso Hannes Otahal joined the band. In 2001 they performed in Belgium during the Stekene Blues & Rock Festival and in the Banana Peel Jazzclub. In early 2001, they agreed to disband the entire band by the end of the year. In December 2001 they gave their last concert with the line-up that had lasted the longest.
