Technically, BMG Special Products' Fascination: The Encore Collection isn't a hits collection, especially since it overlooks such charting singles as "Chantez-Chantez (Shan-Tay, 'Sing')" and "Love and Marriage." Instead, it's more of a sampler, with a couple of major hits from the late '50s ("Whatever Lola Wants (Lola Gets)," "Fascination"), balanced with other singles ("I Could Have Danced All Night") and album tracks. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason behind the song selection, but the end result is pretty entertaining and may be of interest to budget-minded casual Dinah Shore fans.~Stephen Thomas Erlewine
