Steve Amber - Hypnagogia (2022) Hi-Res

In 2018, an extraordinary psychedelic discovery landed in our curious ears. It was Steve Amber, a psychedelic quartet from Paris, who made us see all the colors with their first EP called From A Temple Of The Hill. After long years of radio silence, here they are back with a first long format called Hypnagogia.

Opening with a most vibrant “Empathy Drive”, Steve Amber sets the scene with their resolutely epic psychedelic rock. Between a Tame Impala of the first hour and a Radiohead in the synthetic era, there is only one step that the quartet crosses brilliantly on "Cranium Fire" or also on "Daemons Of The Subatomic" and on " The Sulker”.

Steve Amber's psychedelic odyssey will take on a much more insane scale. The second half of Hypnagogia begins with the saga divided into two fascinating tracks, “And I’m Still Stuck In My Head…” and “…Launching…”. It is clear that the Parisians redouble their ambitions until the end with "Pilots In A Cage" and "Here Be Dragons" where their psychedelic synth-rock is totally out of the ordinary. A tailor-made work as we rarely do.
