Texas Woman's University Wind Symphony - Walking on Shattered Glass (2023)

“Walking on Shattered Glass” is the first-ever recorded album by the Texas Woman’s University. From its inception, the goal of this project was to bring together a diverse collection of compositional voices to showcase amazing new works from a demographic of composers that have been traditionally overlooked. I could think of no better school and ensemble to take on this project than ours. Texas Woman’s University is the nation’s largest public university system that focuses on women. Our purpose is to “Educate a Woman, Empower the World.” I hope you will agree that what you hear in these recordings is a wonderful representation of some of the best new works for band in the last decade or so, and just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to some of the extraordinary work being produced by a growing and powerful voice not only in wind band composition, but music industry-wide.
