Third album by the Berlin groove jazz band around Arno Grußendorf and Jakob Seeber as CD and LP on Jazzlab.
The band's name has been expanded to include Jakob Seeber's hip hop alias "Der Nussigmilde", but the quartet Die Therapie continues to follow the credo of wanting to trigger ecstasy with their interpretation of jazz. Although both guitarist Arno Grußendorf and drummer Jakob Seeber have enjoyed traditional musical training, nothing is more repugnant to them than an elitist term of the genre. With a lot of curiosity and the urge to break down boundaries, they reach their own musical horizon together with keyboardist Danie Bulatkin and bassist Chiel Van Rijn, soulmates with protagonists of the London scene like Tom Misch or Yussef Dayes.
The music is always developed from the rhythm and played with the dance floor in mind. In addition to jazz, funk and blues, »Reconnected« also features house, drum'n'bass and 90's true school hip hop as references. On stage, the quartet confronts jazz purists with the offensive use of sample pads, pedal effect racks and laptops, but the eleven tracks are pretty much in the middle between hand-played band music and electronic production peripherals. Die Therapie & Der Nussigmilde have been on the lookout for ever more exciting sounds and grooves since their debut album »Freiraum« (2019), with »Reconnected« they are now reaching the next level.
