Viola Hammer - Heartbeat Project (2015)

The pianist/composer and arranger Viola Hammer implements the idea of her exceptional project with the help of twelvecolleagues, who come from the fields of jazz, classical, and pop music. The basic idea is to use music grounded in modernjazz and let it soar to the heavens of pop, while classical instruments create a hint of film music character. Dainty electronicsounds take the listener by surprise and subtly hint at the developments in store for the second half of the CD. Every acousticcomposition additionally gave birth to an electronic version. What starts subtly, lyrically, and orchestral, ends in danceable andbeat-focused electronic music. The aim of the young musician is to let contrasts melt into a unified whole instead of highlightingthe differences. Because, as the name Heartbeat Project already indicates, everything originates from the same heartbeat.
