The Pete Rea Band - Zero Hour (2023)

Pete Rea is a musician and songwriter from the northeast of England, a part of the world that is very dear to him. His love of music came from living above an old-style coffee bar as a young boy and listening to the 45’s playing on the jukebox below. The eclectic mix of rhythms, melodies and lyrics were the influencers that formed his creativity and ambition to become a musician.
His first venture into the world of music came when his band, The Grip, released an e.p. (Cut the Crap Get the Grip) which received great support from John Peel. Soon after that Pete worked with Trevor Sewell's Erogenous Zones when they signed to the Safari Label and had a spell with Jess Cox after his departure from the Tygers of Pan Tang.
The next chapter in Pete’s musical adventures took him to the Republic of Liverpool where he first wrote and performed with John de Tuite (Nicky Cool), after the break-up of Pink Military. Pete and John’s first collaboration produced material which was used in the acclaimed film Letter to Breshnev.
Pete has since written for many band projects, film and television and has been heavily involved with NEBlues, a blues collective based in the northeast of England. His recent work includes two solo albums, music for a stage production in Liverpool (Tales From The Masquerade) and a writing collaboration with the band Rhythm Zoo on their independent chart-topping blues album Sold For Love.
