In 1993, he puts together a quintet of musicians and close friends to play and sometimes reinvent his own compositions (Matthieu Michel - bugle, Yves Massy - trombone, Daniel Perrin - accordion and piano, Marcel Papaux - drums and Pierre-François Massy - double bass), all very engaged and highly recognised artists, well-known for their virtuosity and outstanding originality.
Their first concerts take place in Théâtr'Onze in Lausanne on December 22nd and 23rd 1993. Later, several concerts will be given every year all over Switzerland.
A first CD is released in 1995 ("Lune Rousse" Unit Records), followed by "La Ménagerie De Poche (Altrisuoni), in 1998.
The guitar player Christian Graf joins the group in 1999, and Daniel Perrin adds the generous sound of the bandoneon to the ensemble. The third recording of the group takes place in 2001: "En Public" (Atrisuoni), followed by a tour in Czech Republic.
Rosetta held their last concert on May 15th 2003 when they were invited by the Jazzfestival Schaffhausen (Schaffhauser JazzFestival) recorded by SFR, where they mainly played pieces of the last CD. The contrast between both recordings is so striking, that it justifies this project. It will recall for the audience both the energy and creativity of a leading group of that epoch in Switzerland.
