Davor Doležal Quartet - Strange Beauty (2022) [Hi-Res]

In the first days of the new year, relax with the excellent new album of Davor Doležal Quartet "Strange beauty". So far, the album has been released only on digital platforms, and a physical edition will be released in January. Davor Doležal, guitarist, arranger and producer, started work on the author's debut in 2019. Unencumbered by genre divisions, he wrote songs that exude various musical moods and atmospheres. Together with a strong line-up of musicians: Nikola Šantek on piano, Zvonimir Šestak on double bass and Mirsad Dalipi on drums, the emphasis is on collective improvisation, mutual listening and appreciation of ideas.
There are eight tracks on the album "Strange Beauty", and the track "Tune for Woody" features a special guest, Matija Dedić. This duet was recorded in Dada Marinković's studio in Zagreb, while the others were recorded in live sessions at Štala Recordings in Slovenia. The sound masters are Dado Marinković, Uroš Bon and Rok Lopatić, and the mix, master and production are by Goran Kovačić and Davor Doležal. The interesting cover of this album is the work of academic painter Danijelo Drakulic.
Davor Doležal has been present on the music scene for more than twenty years. He performed his first performances in the cult "BP club" in the early 2000s.
