Ensemble La Mouvance - Guillaume De Machaut: Loing De Vous - From Afar (2010)

La Mouvance is focused on the performance of European music of the 12th to 15th century. The term „mouvance“ represents the many variations of a piece, which were passed down by oral tradition before being later set to manuscript. In the intimate instrumentation of singing, recorder and vielle La Mouvance interprets the variety of medieval music. Tracing their fascination, the three musicians engage in medieval music, guided and inspired by international workshops and seminars like Ars Nova with Pedro Memelsdorff in Barcelona and music of the high classes at Fürsteneck castle with Marc Lewon and Uri Smilanski. Enchanted by this music the ensemble seeks to share an impressively musical language that invites the audience to enter an unknown musical world full of discoveries.
