« Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still. This Chinese proverb illustrates perfectly the process used by Arnault Cuisinier in his work. At a time where speed and immediacy rule all our actions, this unique approach proves highly successful. Combining patience with fervour, Arnault took his time to nurture his project. For two years, he brought together, here and there, his musicians for some experimentation sessions, which have gradually given birth to a sound, a collective identity, around a plot written by Arnault. One can only consider this journey if the protagonists are not looking to prove themselves as individual; it needs to be a democratic bias where the creativity of each one is called upon on equal ground, in the name of a common project. Arnault’s compositions, conceived like so many skilfully written short films, have taken us to some poetic worlds where his influences in music, literature, pictorial art and movies meet. Like motionless travellers, we have covered together a journey into an intimate geography. We bet that the listener will wander through this album with the same pleasure as we did. »
