Högni - Katla (Soundtrack from the Netflix Series) (2023) [Hi-Res]

A multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and composer, he was soon recruited by famed electronic group GusGus for songwriting, singing and touring – resulting in a strong international following. In 2017, he released his eclectic first solo album Two Trains, where Högni wrote for string orchestra, a male chorus and electronics.

Alongside his songwriting work, Högni has become well established as a composer for film, television, theatre and concert music. He has written scores for Moving Art Iceland (Netflix), the cutting-edge dance installation ‘Project XO’ (New Movement Collective), Hannah Felicia (Danskompaniet Spinn), The Heart of Robin Hood (The Royal Shakespeare Company) and Angels of the Universe (Icelandic National Theatre).

He recently scored DUO productions feature film ‘Alma’ and he worked with the acclaimed director Baltasar Kormakur on the score for the first Icelandic Netflix series ‘Katla’. In 2022 the Iceland Symphony Orchestra premiered his ‘Symphony Nr.1’ as well as other orchestral works at a concert in Harpa Concert Hall. Högni is in the midst of writing the score for Focus Features ‘Touch’, directed by Baltasar.

Katla (stylized as KATLA) is an Icelandic mystery-drama television series created by Baltasar Kormákur and Sigurjón Kjartansson. The show premiered on 17 June 2021 on Netflix.
