SPKRFACE - Aberration of Light (2023)

Aberration Of Light pairs the colder and spacier side of hypnotic techno with dense and groovy rhythms. Off kilter stabs, lush repetitive textures, and classic sci fi blips are punctuated with incessant percussion. Elements are placed off grid and swing is applied to maintain a distinctly human feel throughout.

SPKRFACE's sound merges the groovy sensibility of classic Detroit techno with the mesmerizing textures of hypnotic techno and the raw energy of hardgroove. His influences include legends like Oscar Mulero, Jeff Mills, and Robert Hood as well as contemporary artists such as Lewis Fautzi, Norbak, and Alarico. Originally focused on deep house and exploring a myriad of genres before ultimately becoming obsessed with techno, SPKRFACE first started DJing in 2008 and producing in 2015. He's an avid synthesist and tinkerer who utilizes a constantly rotating collection of DIY and modified hardware as well as Ableton. With two self released EPs under his belt, 2023s "Aberration Of Light '' marks both his first full length album as well as his first label release.
