Cobla La Principal Del Llobregat - Concert Cloenda 2023 - 1er Concurs "Mirant al cel" de Composició de Sardanes (2023)

La Colla Mirant al Cel closed the celebration of its 75th anniversary with a concert and the presentation of prizes for the organization's first sardana composition competition, on Friday night at the Teatre Principal in Sabadell. At the event, the Cobla Principal del Llobregat performed, among other pieces, the six finalist sardanas of the contest, in which around thirty proposals were presented.

From the organization, they note the high level of all the compositions, which gave the whole audience "a magnificent evening" and "an unforgettable night", together with "the extraordinary exhibitions" of free points by the Cabirols gangs and Looking at the Sky, both Champions of Catalonia in this modality.

On the other hand, the couple performed the first and last of the sardanas dedicated to the Colla Mirant al Cel: the oldest, composed in 1949 by Agustí Borgunyó, and the most recent, by Enric Ortí, from 2022. A moreover, the musical formation offered an adaptation of the work Carmen, by Georges Bizet and arranged by Max Havart, as a prelude to the presentation of prizes to the finalists and winners.
