Sofia Machray - Language of Flowers (2023) [Hi-Res]

Described by pop-culture magazine Sniffers as ‘captivating', Sofia Machray is an independent dream-rock singer-songwriter from the heart of the mountains in Arrowtown, New Zealand. Stretching out over moody rockers and soft-burning hooks Sofia delved into the realm of indie music from a young age as a self-taught guitarist from 6 years old. Drawing on timeless concepts and the vast landscapes that raised, she began to cultivate and express herself through the medium of songwriting. In 2018 she made the move to Pо̄neke/Wellington to study music at Massey University where she also fortuitously met her 5-piece support band.

Sofia was quick to become a hot topic in Poneke’s thriving independent music scene, releasing two more singles to great review, touring nationally on multiple occasions, and supporting the likes of Palace, Wax Mustang, Dolphin Friendly, Racing, & Ha the Unclear. With her recent singles 'Petals in the Rain' and 'Foundations' dominating the student radio charts and receiving tremendous support from both international/local media, Sofia Machray has been quick at solidifying herself as a tactful, femme-led outfit at the forefront of NZs alternative indie scene.

Sofia’s dreamy debut record ‘Language Of Flowers’ is out on the 21st of July 2023 followed by her nationwide NZ tour in August 2023.
