Dario Piccioni - Hortus Del Rio (2023) [Hi-Res]

Dario Piccioni, born in Rome, is an italian jazz bassist, composer. His music includes influences from jazz, world music, prog, Brazilian music, movie and videogame soundtracks. BEST BASS PLAYER “Be Jazz European Contest”, (Leuven, Belgium, 2017); BEST ARTIST “Conad Jazz contest – Umbria Jazz ” (Perugia, Italy, 2017); BEST INSTRUMENTAL PERFORMANCE “Johnny Raducanu International Jazz Competition” (Braila, Romania, 2022); “FIRST PRIZE” Premio Jazz Isio Saba for innovation and creativity in Jazz (Cagliari, Italy, 2023). He has figured in recording and performing projects and collaborated with international well known jazz artist as Ralph Towner, Perico Sambeat, Philip Catherine, Rosario Giuliani, Danilo Rea, Rita Marcotulli, Eddy Palermo, Maria Pia De Vito, and many others, taking part to prestigious jam sessions sharing the stage with Roy Hargrove, George Garzone, Aaron Parks, Jorge Rossy. He works also as a performer musicians in the theater show and with personalities of italian television. With an intense recording activity behind him as a side man and co-author, he dedicates himself passionately to composition, releasing three albums as a composer and band leader: “Limesnauta” in September 2019 and “Carpet Stories” in February 2021, “Hortus Del Rio” in summer 2023. After completing his bachelor and master in music and anthropology studies between Rome, Brussels and Valencia, he graduated at the american international music school Berklee College of Music.
