Sticks & Strings features the EG Kight Trio in a simple, acoustic setting. EG and her “boys”, as she affectionately calls them - Gary Porter and Ken Wynn - offer a wide variety of blues/roots music with these songs, nine of which were written or co-written by Kight. The CD also includes a cover of Gregg Allman’s “Come and Go Blues.”
Ranging from resignation about a failed relationship in "All Things Considered" to the fun/rootsy story of what's gotten her through the tough times in "God, Goats and Guitars" (with Kight's mama on background vocals), to the vivid images painted with the lyrics of “Changes Coming Down,” to the closing anthem "I Won't Ever Give Up", this record is all about relationships - the good, the bad, and the ugly.
No matter the subject of the song, when EG and her boys get together, in the studio or on the stage, that's where the magic happens.
