McCoy Tyner - The Best Of: The Blue Note Years (1996)

The Best of McCoy Tyner: The Blue Note Years is a solid nine-track collection that spotlights the pianist's most accessible '60s recordings for the label. There's certainly a lot of great music on this set, but it shortchanges the diversity of Tyner's accomplishments during this period. Nevertheless, it's a good sampler and introduction for the curious -- it just shouldn't be considered a definitive collection.
