Camilla Susann Haug - Himmelsk ekvator (2023) [Hi-Res]

Singer and songwriter Camilla Susann Haug has created new songs inspired by her encounter with South Indian music. In this unusual musical collaboration, north and east meet; the polar bear and the tiger. It is a meeting that is not so likely, yet an enriching and exciting meeting. In 2020, the collaboration between Camilla and the Carnatic flautist Amith Nadig began. Camilla had an idea to create a musical project that combines India's wealth of detail with the cool Nordic simplicity. She began taking singing lessons in Indian singing to gain insight into Indian voicing, ornamentation and composition. The aim was to combine this with their own Norwegian sound and tonal language. The album "Heavenly Equator" is the outstanding and unique result. The Northern Norwegian lyrics are about being able to see into one's innermost self and at the same time have the perspective far beyond oneself; about seeing the world with both a magnifying glass and a telescope. She has an international band with her, consisting of three Norwegian, one Polish and one Indian musician.
