Darcy Fox is indie, The Melbourne singer-songwriter you've been waiting for. With a knack for pouring her heart out over ear-worm melodies, she dives deep into love, loss and friendship.

Her range spans from fury-filled indie-rock to foot-tapping folk-pop, with careful production choices that lay a bed for her evocative storytelling.

Sitting firmly in generation Taylor Swift, Darcy cut her teeth on lyrics that are uncompromising, vulnerable and haunting - and hers are no exception.

Her debut single ‘I’m Here’, album ‘Unprotected Grounds’ and first two EPs ‘My Own Happy Ending’, ‘Chapter One’, are heavily influenced by the country music she was raised on. Shania Twain and Miranda Lambert played on repeat as she spun through adolescence.

In her latest singles, ‘Ashamed’, ‘Your Best’, ‘Lonely’ and ‘She’s in London Now’, Darcy makes a deliberate shift. Not just in her sound - which has effortlessly transformed into indie-pop, inspired by Taylor herself, Maggie Rogers and Phoebe Bridgers - but in her stories, too.

Darcy came out in 2017 and is passionate about authentic queer representation in media. Her recent and upcoming work explore the facets of living and loving as a queer person. While the tales are her own, she uses broad enough strokes for the wider LGBTQIA+ community to connect over shared experiences.

Throughout her career, Darcy has garnered a diverse and dedicated fanbase. In 2021, during the midst of the global pandemic, they rallied behind her to crowdfund her sophomore album, which is due in the second half of 2023.

The same level of support has come from industry insiders - she became a finalist in the 2013 Telstra Road to Discovery competition, and won the Blues, Roots, and Beyond competition in 2015 at the Queenscliff Music Festival. However her tenacity is best shown in her reign as the first soloist to win the Push Start battle of the bands competition, competing against 350 Victorian bands.

Hailing from Gippsland and now residing in Melbourne’s inner north, Darcy has been performing since the age of 15. But really, she’s just getting started.
