Madera Viva Trío, with an already consolidated sound, surprises us on this album by singing its own songs - and also those of other authors - in its closest languages, Catalan and Spanish. Although it is essentially a jazz trio, the group is influenced by Latin rhythms, signature songs and pop, with a very energetic and explosive live sound, where improvisations take us along unexpected paths.
The trio's first album is titled Senderos, and it forms the present and future of a group with a trajectory and also a past. And the root of Madera Viva Trío is in a project that was born in 2017, when Pau Lligadas recorded his first album as a leader, titled Madera Viva, and featured the presence of Vicenç Solsona and the internationally renowned Jorge Rossy. But Pau was clear that he wanted to develop a group sound during his tour and that way he introduced drummer Ramón Ángel Rey based in Barcelona. This is how the Pau Lligadas trio evolves and all sensibilities are an essential part of the same portrait. Three paths that come together in one in a genuine and unique way.
