Meelodi - Chahâr (2023)

Meelodi is: Medi Farmani - vocals, Ole Andre Farstad - string instruments, percussion, production. Initially a Bergen based duo with an eclectic mix of musical influences, mostly deriving from Farstads extensive studies of stringed instruments around world, mixed with Farmanis persian vocals and lyrics from the likes of Omar Khayyam and Rumi. On their new album The Great Blue Wheel, the duo is joined by syrian singer and oud player Nawar Alnaddaf, together with a great list of musicians contributing on the album: Snorre Bjerck - percussion Anders Bitustøyl - bass guitar Francois Taillefer - percussion Alice Barron - violin Daiyen Jone - backing vocals Kadialy Kouyate - kora Jan Kåre Hystad - bass clarinet Jonas Hamre - saxofon Hades Hernandez - congas

The Meelodi trio now has a live setup with some of Norways finest musicians in Snorre Bjerck, Per Jørgensen and Torbjørn Hillersøy/Anders Bitustøyl and embark upon a new chapter with the new album and a string of concerts thru Norway the coming year.
