Artist Statement: We spend a lot of time in search of keys. Maybe it's the key to success... to happiness... or to someone's heart. As I searched for the right key, I found keys to songs, which opened the door to my own heart. I entered into a year of songwriting (the 52 Original Song Project) where I unlocked my senses in order to create. I let music in and out. In the lyric booklet I have included handwritten lyrics from each week that I wrote a new song (represented by the week # on each page). Some of these lyrics were first and final versions, others were drafts in the works. This collection of songs was chosen by producer, Geoff Stanfield and me. Each song holds a special place in my heart. This is simply a record of the time. Thank you for supporting my quest to grow, evolve, learn, inspire and be inspired. Victoria Vox has taken the artful sound of the ukulele into eclectic new directions. Her whimsical songwriting uses a unique palette of sounds and beats that delight audiences of all ages. In 2011, Vox challenged herself to learn 52 cover songs in a year and followed it up in 2012 with the 52 Original Song Project. Her fans pre-purchased a year's worth of mp3s and became 'subscribers' to her song project, to support her during her year off-the-road.
