Jan Wouter Oostenrijk - Sharqi Blues (2023) [Hi-Res]

The Sharqi Blues album was inspired on the Arab spring, reflecting the struggle for freedom, revolution and innovation in the early 2010's in North Africa and the Middle East. On the album Jan Wouter is accompanied by Karim Ziad, drummer of Rai singer Cheb Khaled and jazz giant Joe Zawinul, who died in 2007. With his mix of Bellydance, Jazz and Rock, the Dutch guitar player contributed significantly in the field between jazz crossovers and North African music. For the past 10 years he was one of the founders of the Maghreb Jazz and toured regularly in Morocco and Egypt. Sharqi Blues, is his third album.
