ØyvindLAND - Nonett (2023) [Hi-Res]

ØyvindLAND offers an inspired jazz experience of melodic, swinging, and creative music where individuals and the collective can flourish without conflicting. The music is steeped in jazz tradition, drawing inspiration from legends such as Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Charles Mingus, as well as Norwegian favorites like Eirik Hegdal and Ole Morten Vågan.

Øyvind Mathisen, a Norwegian trumpeter and composer educated at the Music Conservatory in Trondheim, is the driving force behind ØyvindLAND. Established in 2017, the ensemble has performed over 30 concerts across Norway and released their debut album "Malerier" (2020). In October 2023, the band will release their second album, "Nonett," on Øra Fonogram.

"Nonett" introduces a grander and even more powerful version of ØyvindLAND, expanding the ensemble to a nonet. This album features two of Norway's most creative jazz musicians: woodwind virtuoso Eirik Hegdal and trombonist Erik Johannessen.
