John Rooney - Hoodwink (2023)

Rooney was already inspired by Joe Cocker's "Mad Dogs and Englishmen', recording in Muscle Shoals and with legends like Spooner Oldham. Throughout the album, a unique blend of Southern Soul with a touch of the West Coast develops. In the songs, Rooney once again takes us on an observational and at times reflective emotional journey through the ups and downs of life, including love, loss and loneliness, and the frailties of the human spirit. His vocals sound sweet and intimate like a summer evening on his Nashville porch.
