In 2011, Stacey was the only non-Brazilian singer to perform at Brazil's national celebration marking the 80th anniversary of 'O Cristo Redentor', the statue of Christ the Redeemer, on Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro. Her performance that night with Marcos Valle, composer of ‘So Nice’, led to a tour of Brazil with Marcos as well as a live album, recorded in Rio De Janeiro, due for release in Spring 2013, which will celebrate Marcos Valle's 50-year career.
Marcos Valle was the Renaissance man of Brazilian pop, a singer/songwriter/producer who straddled the country's music world from the early days of the bossa nova craze well into the fusion-soaked sound of '80s MPB. Though his reputation in America never quite compared to contemporaries like Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, or even Tom Zé, Valle is one of the most important and popular performers in the history of Brazilian pop.
