Midwestern Sky is an album funded through a grant awarded by the Ohio Arts Council that pairs the inspiring beauty of the solo flute with the calming and grounding sounds of the Boundary Waters Wilderness. Perfect for meditation, yoga, study, work, or any other activity that would benefit from a clear, relaxed, and motivated mind.
This album helps bats recover from the White Nose Syndrome epidemic by donating all proceeds to the National Parks Services' WNS Programs.
Midwestern Sky: Duets for Flute and Nature is a 7-track audio album that combines the inspiring beauty of the solo flute with the calming and grounding sounds of the Midwestern wilderness, but it is also a stand against two epidemics: Diseases of Despair and White Nose Syndrome. Flute soloist and composer Eva Skanse composed and recorded seven pieces inspired by the audio samples collected on an expedition to the Boundary Waters. The studio-recorded flute compositions were layered over the nature samples to produce a unique album in celebration of the beauty of the Midwest.
