VA - 6 Years of E-Missions (2023)

Three years have passed us since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought our world to a halt. In that time, since our last compilation release in 2020, the label has gone through a short hiatus period, a change of hands, restructuring, and a rebirth of sorts – focusing on emerging global talent. Artist and label owner P.leone diverted his efforts into new business ventures and offered the label’s management to Junior M in 2022, formerly known as False Witness.

Now after a busy 2023, the year culminates in the label’s triennial compilation. This VA brings even more international artists into the fold, pairing artists such as Mexico’s Villaseñor and Palestine’s Rakans with newcomers like Ray Kandinski, Giordano, Discrete Circuit, and Arvin T. It also signals the return of E-Missions alumni like Annika Wolfe, Tano, SHYBOI, and cyd, along with the return of the label’s co- founder Channel Lock aka Caiazzo.

“Each producer shines a light on their distinctive style of dance music. I was really trying to avoid creating a compilation of records that all sounded the same” said Junior M on how tracks were selected. “So often, house and techno’s higher curatorial goals strive for stringent track similarities that border on monotony. I want to highlight how diverse this field is, and how different and unique the sounds and production methods can be. I will be pushing that agenda with E-Missions further into 2024 and beyond.” The “6 Years of E-Missions” compilation is out on November 16th, 2023.
