Inspired by Ennio Morricone’s soundtrack for the “The Hateful Eight” movie directed by Quentin Tarantino (2015), pianist/composer Sjoerd van Eijck for the 2nd album of his OAK quartet, delved into the world of the French composer Olivier Messaien. The new album “Eight” is a modern jazz reflection on the past, present and future. It emphasizes the power of hard work and following your intuition, to make dreams come true. With on trumpet Koen Smits, drums Willem Romers and double bass Nathan Wouters.
