Vocal jazz the way it used to be...Pure straight ahead swing reminiscent of Ella Fitzgerald, June Christy and Anita O'Day. That's what you get with Rebecca Hardiman. Rebecca started her career in 1987 with the Boston-based vocal jazz group The Ritz and performed throughout the United States, and at the Montreal Jazz Festival in Canada. While with The Ritz, she recorded a CD for Denon Columbia entitled The Ritz. That recording has recently been re-released as part of the "Giants in Vocal Jazz" available at Amazon. In 1992, she started the Portland based vocal jazz group "Euphoria" which performed for 10 years in the Pacific Northwest - and was the opening group for Mel Torme' when he appeared at The Eugene Hult Center in 1993. Now on her own as a solo artist, she has gained much respect and accolades from notable Portland jazz artists. She performs regularly with top musicians including Ron Steen, Dave Captein, Dan Presley, Brant Allard, Kurt Deutscher and Ray Hardiman. Rebecca recorded a CD of original gospel Big-Band songs in 2009, and more recently - a CD of favorite jazz standards in 2013 - and her latest release "Easy Living" out August 2015.
