Clarence Hines Jazz Orchestra - Along the Way (2026) [Hi-Res]

Trombonist, composer, arranger, and educator Clarence Hines, long respected in the music community, steps forward for the first time as a bandleader. His jazz orchestra draws on all the musical and personal influences he has gathered over his career. The music is rooted in the tradition of the modern large ensemble but speaks in a contemporary voice. The program includes six Hines originals and two new arrangements: “Carry On” by pianist Lynne Arriale and “April Green” by saxophonist Bunky Green. The orchestra is anchored by lead trumpeter Bijon Watson and drummer Jared Schonig, with solos from Clay Jenkins, Todd DelGiudice, Doug Stone, Joshua Bowlus, and Lenard Simpson. Their playing brings warmth, lyricism, and explosive energy to Hines’ vibrant scores.
