This is how Barbara Dennerlein presents herself for Christmas 2015. The Munich-based musician has been one of the top stars of the international jazz scene for over three decades. She has repeatedly been named Instrumentalist of the Year by the renowned Down Beat magazine. She has received numerous jazz awards and has been honored with the "Preis der deutschen Schallplatten kritik" several times. She has been a member of the venerable "Hammond Hall of Fame" since 2013.

Now Barbara Dennerlein is finally bringing the Hammond B3 back to the music stage with her Christmas Songs. Ten fingers, two feet, one instrument.

Together with an all-star band and the Italian producer Nicola Conte, Barbara Dennerlein has now recorded an album that combines the perfect symbiosis of vintage and contemporary sounds. With lightness and a twinkle in their eye, yet always with respect for the musical source material, the musicians manage to bring out new facets from the traditional songs. In addition to classics such as "O Tannenbaum", "Sleigh Ride" (with a Marvin Gaye feel) and "We Three Kings", the album also includes the Miles Davis composition "Blue X-Mas" and ballads such as "Christmas Song".

Also on board: Magnus Lindgren. The top reed player from Sweden has been playing with Till Brönner and others for many years and wrote the arrangements for this album. The English jazz singer Zara McFarlane. She is the musical adopted daughter of acid jazz godfather Gilles Peterson. The Finn Abdissa Assefa belongs to the top of the European percussion scene. The Swedish drummer Robert Ikiz. He has been drumming for Nils Landgren's Funk Unit, among others, for years.

The exterior should not be left out here either. The cover illustration was created by the famous artist and illustrator Olaf Hajek. Hajek has already illustrated celebrities such as Michael Jackson and Michelle Obama for international glossy magazines.
