Nate Van Winkle was born and raised in San Antonio, TX for a majority of his life. His love of music started at a young age and grew throughout the course of his younger adult years. Nate Van Winkle first launched his music career by playing at local religious venues. He started his band during college and nearly dropped out of education to pursue music. He eventually finished his degree and the band went their separate ways. After the band split, he decided to take an alternate course and pursue writing music that moved him. His debut album's title track "Catching Fireflies" captures the beauty of this style by surrounding deep meaningful lyrics with an acoustic sound that can't go unnoticed. His use of stringed instruments on the album almost reminds us of a early Damien Rice album. His Catching Fireflies album is a must have for your collection!
