Mambo Legends Orchestra is a New York ensemble whose members spent decades performing with the legendary orchestras of Machito, Tito Puente and Tito Rodríguez, which defined the sound of the Palladium Ballroom and shaped Latin jazz and salsa. On October 2, 2026, the orchestra releases No Hay Que Hablar ‘NUFF SAID! on Truth Revolution Recording Collective (TRRc), its first recording since the Latin Grammy-nominated Watch Out! ¡Ten Cuidao! (2011). The group is led by timbalero, arranger and musical director Jose Madera, saxophonist and flutist Mitch Frohman, and the late bongo master John “Dandy” Rodriguez. The title, roughly “There’s No Need To Talk — ‘Nuff Said!”, means, in Frohman’s words, that these are the real deal: musicians who actually played with the masters, with an experience on the bandstand that has no comparison.

The album is conceived not as a retrospective but as an extension of the tradition: preserving the Palladium sound does not mean preserving it in stasis. Its core is the orchestration of Jose Madera, who has played with Machito and Tito Puente for over six decades. His arrangements keep the rhythmic drive, sophisticated brass writing and dynamic interplay, while leaving room for today’s musicians to make their own mark. The lineup includes alto saxophonist Bobby Porcelli, trumpeter John Walsh, trombonists Sam Burtis and Jimmy Bosch, bassist Gerardo “Jerry” Madera, conguero George Delgado and pianist Zaccai Curtis; the vocalists are Frankie Vázquez, Cita Rodriguez, Marco Bermudez and Jorge Maldonado.

Guest artists include Eddie Palmieri (a commanding solo on “Sabroso Guaguancó” alongside José Alberto), Gilberto Santa Rosa (“La Rumbantela”, “Camagüey (Piñeiro Tenía Razón)”), Danny Rivera (the bolero “De Papi Con Amor (From Daddy With Love)”, written by Frohman as a tribute to his three daughters and arranged by the late Ray Santos), Tony Vega (“Que Me Digan Feo”) and Tito Nieves (“Empego Naroco”). Frankie Vázquez sings on several tracks, including Madera’s reimagining of Gershwin’s “I’ve Got a Crush on You” as a swinging mambo for full orchestra. Instrumental highlights include Frohman’s flute on the cha-cha “Preludio En Ritmo”, Porcelli’s alto sax on the classic mambo “Abaniquito”, and the closing “The MLO Swing” (composed and arranged by Madera) with solos by Walsh, Tokunori Kajiwara (trombone), Porcelli and Curtis.
