Five classic artist albums in wallets housed in a new slipcase. Nice and simple, no frills just great music! Includes Young Rascals (1966), Collections (1967), Groovin (1967), Once Upon A Dream (1968) and Freedom Suite (1969).
These 5 album releases can be hard work, especially if, like me in this case, you mostly know the band from anthologies or greatest hits collections. Fear not, there is hardly any filler across all five albums and that is a rare, rare comment.
That said, if you don't know The Rascals then the starting place has to be the best know tracks: Good Lovin', Love Is A Beautiful Thing, How Can I Be Sure (yes, the original of the David Cassidy hit), Groovin' etc.etc.
Mix in a brew of blue-eyed soul and pop plus a whole lot of hammond and Felix Cavaliere's voice and the whole package is a joy from the first track on the first album, through to the last on the last (all bar the drum track/solo on Freedom Suite!). 'Heaven'.
100% recommended to fans and, if you're not a fan, then get a greatest hits as a starter and come back for the full dinner when you know how good they are. Anyone who likes sixties music should add these to their collection!
