Melba Moore is an American prolific five-octave, four Grammy-nominated Singer and Tony Award-winning actress, most famous for her hits Lean On Me,This Is It,You Stepped Into My Life,Love's Comin' At Ya, Livin' For Your Love,Falling and A Little Bit More.
Moore entered show business when she replaced Diane Keaton in the original Broadway production of Hair (1968), the first time an African American took over for a white entertainer on Broadway. By the age of 25, she had won a Tony Award for her work in the musical Purlie (1970). In 1975, alongside her then-husband Charles Huggins, Moore formed Hush Productions and signed R&B artist Freddie Jackson. That same year, she released her Grammy-nominated, debut album entitled Peach Melba. She has appeared on Broadway in Les Miserables (1996), and released the album Happy Together (1996).
