1985 BROADCAST RECORDING FROM THE UK SUPERGROUP THE FIRM\nFormed in 1984 by singer Paul Rodgers and guitarist Jimmy Page, both of whom In the early 1980s were dealing with the demise of their respective bands \- Led Zeppelin and Bad Company \- the pair linked up with drummer Chris Slade and bass player Tony Franklin and formed The Firm, who became one of the most successful and popular rock supergroups of all time.\nAs Paul Rodgers remembers; \x26#34;Jimmy was at a bit of a loose end. He\x27d come ‘round and check out my home studio and we ended up writing songs, but without any definite plans. Jimmy was very keen to get back on the road, so we put a band together… The first thing I knew was that he had to be writing songs again. I\x27d already seen one of my friends going down that road in Koss (Free’s Paul Kossoff), and it wasn\x27t going to happen again.\x26#34;\nDuring their time together, The Firm released two studio albums across the next couple of years; their self\-titled debut in 1985, and Mean Business in ’86. The band also played some live dates in the UK at the end of 1984, and toured the US in both 1985 and 1986. One of the band’s best shows undertaken in America in 1985, was the concert they played at the Oakland Coliseum in San Francisco’s Bay Area. on 15th March 1985, when they put on an extraordinary show which was recorded for live FM Radio Broadcast along the West Coast, and which remains a quite staggering example of mid\-1980s British rock music at its absolute finest.\nPreviously unreleased, this entire broadcast is now available for the first time on this new 2 CD SET, allowing fans to finally appreciated just how exhilarating this English Supergroup were when performing in a live setting.
