The Who’s 1982 tour, which was all in North America apart from two warm-up dates at the Birmingham NEC in England, was their last to feature Kenney Jones on drums and they wouldn’t tour again until 1989. The tour promoted the recent “It’s Hard” album, which had been released in June 1982, and the set list included a number of tracks from that album, some of which the band would only play live on this tour. This release features the show from the second of their two nights at New York’s Shea Stadium and was recorded on October 13th 1982. Although a couple of tracks have appeared on compilations, this is the first official release of the audio from the full show.

For the first time ever, the Who's monumental show at Shea Stadium in 1982 is being released on a double CD and triple LP sets. Extracted from the previously acclaimed Live At Shea Stadium 1982 DVD and Blu-ray, initially released by Eagle Rock in June 2015, these brand new LP and CD editions will offer fans a complete experience of the Who's legendary performance at the venerable ball park.

The show, a resounding crescendo supporting the newly released It's Hard album, saw the formidable quartet of Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, and Kenney Jones take center stage. A poignant moment in the band's history, as they would hit pause on touring until 1989 shortly thereafter.

The 1982 tour, almost exclusively covering North American with only two preluding dates in England, marked the swan song for Kenney Jones on drums until the band's return in 1989. Besides tracks drawn from It's Hard - some of which have never been heard live again - the Who showcased both classic tracks and rarely performed songs, including iconic hits like “Pinball Wizard,” “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” “My Generation,” “Substitute,” “Who Are You,” “I Can’t Explain,” “See Me Feel Me,” and “Baba O’Riley,” among many more.

Recorded on the second of two nights at New York's iconic Shea Stadium, Live At Shea Stadium 1982 captures the essence of the Who's musical prowess, representing the night's performance in its entirety. A gem for aficionados and music enthusiasts alike, this marks the official release of the complete audio from that historic night, a momentous occasion for the Who's discography.
