This collection highlights one of the definitive moments in modern pop music and is sure to please all classic rock enthusiasts! Features Van Morrison at his most heartbreaking, soul-stomping, mystical, spiritual, youthful best!

Early in 1967, Van Morrison found himself in New York at the invite of songwriter/producer Bert Berns. Morrison s previous band Them had been hemorrhaging luck and leaking interest after previously riding high on the charts with the smash hit single Baby Please Don t Go. But Them s fame had been as fleeting as Morrison s enjoyment of it and when word leaked out that he was looking for a label to record solo material on, Berns leaped at the opportunity to have Morrison record for the fledgling Bang label.

Over the next six months, Morrison spent nearly every waking moment either in the studio or writing, later emerging with what was to be his first solo hit single and signature song Brown Eyed Girl along with a slew of other masterful works such as T.B. Sheets, Ro Ro Rosey, Spanish Rose and He Ain t Give You None. That Fall, Bang released Blowin Your Mind, an album which proved Morrison was the most remarkable talent of the age, this side of Bob Dylan; part mystic, part poet, part rock god. This collection draws highlights from those remarkable New York recordings, which have been rediscovered, reappraised and placed on the pedestal of defining moments in pop music history. --Cleopatra Records

"For the casual Van Morrison fan who wants to hear what other gems came out of those heady “Brown Eyed Girl” sessions, this collection is a treasure. If you’re a die-hard fan, picking this up is probably already on your to-do list. It’s the sound of a visionary singer/songwriter, 50 years ago, finding his feet and looking to set the world on fire." (Chris Ingalls, popmatters.com)
